For example, the book brings into question the morality of killing for sport as well as the presumption that there exists a stark divide between humans and animals. The influence of the war can be seen in both the moral underpinnings and historical references in the text. “The Most Dangerous Game” was published on the heels of World War I, and is informed by the author's experience in the war. The story has also been published as “The Hounds of Zaroff.” The main premise of the tale has been adapted numerous times to film and radio.
